Armed robbery at Buddy's

Friday, May 15, 2015

Coleman Police are conducting an investigation after an armed robbery Friday morning.

According to police, a masked man entered Buddy's Convenience Store on North Neches Street shortly after 6:00 a.m. with a long gun police think was a shot-gun and began to rob the location. No injuries have been reported from the incident.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and is still at large.

Police detained a person of interest and searched his residence for the mask, weapon, and gun, but nothing was recovered, so the man was released.

He has agreed to take a polygraph test as well.

The investigation is ongoing.

Does anyone know if the police caught the person who robbed Buddy's & escaped on a bicycle?

Did not know there was a bicycle involved. I would think that a person on a bicycle with a long gun might stick out a bit, even here.
